The old vines are now almost 50 years old and each one is unique. The yields in this plant are declining, the grapes are only very small. The vines are strongly selectively reduced again by targeted pruning in spring so that the vines are relieved as much as possible. A vine for every occasion, to drink to the meal or to drink in twos in the evening. Open an hour before drinking and allow the vine to breathe.

Burgen’s Hasenläufer

The hilly southwest-facing slopes receive sun from many different angles. The vineyard is the only one in Europe that is planted with vines on all sides. It is surrounded by a large valley – a meander of the Moselle – which was cut into the landscape 200,000 years ago. The soil consists mainly of Devonian slate with a high humus content and is ideal for the growth of the vines. Delicate, full-bodied vines with the typical Riesling bouquet are produced.
