Another try: The harvest from the Kirchberg was divided, partly in stainless steel barrels, partly in barriques. Both vines were produced by spontaneous fermentation. After a storage period of 8 months the quantities were brought together again and bottled. The result is a fine Riesling with less acidity, which is rather golden yellow in colour and produces different notes.
Matured in the best locations:
Burgen’s Kirchberg
The gradient points southeast. The Kirchberg has a soft slate soil, is protected from the westerly winds by a strip of forest and thus enjoys sufficient humidity even in the driest years. It matures fruity vines with robust acidity and strong bouquet.
